Vortex Solutions Engine SM (Vortex SESM)
Vortex SESM is a software platform, developed by AccessIT exclusively for our own use, that:
- Provides our clients and their customers with up-to-the-second, Internet-based access to information on orders, network status and billing.
- Provides AccessIT operators and technicians with a unique collection of productivity tools that make our service amazingly fast and accurate, yet uniquely affordable.
At the start of an assignment, our sales and operations staff work with you to develop step-by-step, customized procedures for your operation, whether it is booking and processing orders, setting up circuits, scheduling and dispatching technicians or managing your equipment inventory. Then, while our operators begin providing service based on those procedures, our IT staff converts them into Vortex SESM modules. Though they use a common platform, each module is custom-designed to meet your needs, and each is thoroughly tested before it is deployed.
We put this effort into automating your procedures because it prevents errors, ensures fast and accurate response, and delivers amazing efficiency. For example, modules now in place make it possible to:
- Receive a booking or installation request by fax, email or telephone directly to the operator's desktop. The operator checks availabilities in real time, selects the best solution, books it and immediately provides verbal or email confirmation to the customer.
- Automatically break down the order into all of the procedures needed to carry it out, with each assigned a target date and time.
- Prompt our operators - or yours - to prepare for each step, execute it, and confirm execution. For time-sensitive applications, an alarm signals impending deadlines and problems automatically escalate via email, pagers and cell phones to supervisors for immediate resolution.
- Identify the location of, and track, every piece of client equipment from the moment it is received until it reaches its final destination or is installed, tested and turned up.
- Manage in real time the network of affiliate or remote terminals, switching on service, detecting faults, coordinating with onsite staff, and ordering replacements as needed.
- Automatically export booking, network operations and usage data from Vortex SESM and transmit it to client accounting systems for customer invoicing.
- Provide you and your customers with a password-protected Web site where you can view up-to-the-second information generated by Vortex SESM on operations, orders and network status.

Vortex SESM also offers a robust reporting capability that provides unparalleled information on performance. Reportable data ranges from how long trouble tickets are open to number of minutes of utilization, order rejection rate to the number of times switches are accessed. Information is available both in real-time through a secure online interface and as batch data for analysis.
