A typical six-phase approach for a Professional Services engagement is:
- Implementation Preparation: Joint Project Team formation. Installation assessment. Virtual demonstration.
- Specifications Development: Definition and documentation of technical requirements and interfaces.
- Development: Data clean up. Uploads defined and changes to old data specified. Any database modifications tested and all customizations integrated and tested.
- Installation of Standard and Customized Code: Test environment created at customer site with all standard and customized code fully operational using sample upload data.
- User Training and Testing: Training of the user acceptance team completed and system documentation provided. User testing starts and results leading to required changes prioritized and either completed or scheduled for completion.
- Deployment: Production installation completed. User training completed. System goes live. Project review meeting held to review results and track any follow-on items.
